This feature allows you to select saved searches; have them run on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis; and have the results emailed to the user. For example, if you want to receive an email that gives you all new resources on "food allergies," you could receive a weekly email telling you of new resources on "food allergies" added to the portal database. To see how to use the User Agent feature, see the following help topics.
To create a user agent, click Advanced Search on the navigation bar. At the bottom of the Advanced Search screen, you can save a search by entering a name in the text box under "Save/Load Search Parameters." Once you save a search, you can return to the same place to load a saved search at any time.
To modify your user agent(s), you can visit two places. To edit a saved search, click Advanced Search on the navigation bar. First, load one of your saved searches and edit the parameters. Then, at the bottom of the Advanced Search screen, you can save your new search by entering a name in the text box under "Save/Load Search Parameters" and clicking Save Search.
To change how often the saved searches are delivered to your email address, click Preferences on the navigation bar. At the top of the page, you can designate how often you would like to receive an email. Once you have selected the proper time period, click Save User Agents to save your changes.
To delete a saved search, click Advanced Search on the navigation bar. At the bottom of the Advanced Search screen, you can delete a Saved Search by selecting the appropriate Saved Search from the dropdown box and clicking Delete Search.
Administrators have the option of disabling this feature. If no User Agent option is available on the Preference page, contact the administrator for further information.
You probably have a user agent sending you an email listing new resources. To disable, select the Preferences option from the navigation bar. Under the user agent title, select "never" from the pull down menu.
First, select the Preferences option from the navigation bar. Next, select "never" from the pull down menu.
